У статті викладено результати дослідження питання історії становлення і розвитку системи соціального піклування, влаштування та виховання дітей, позбавлених батьківського піклування, на різних етапах існування американської державності та формування демократичного суспільства. Виділено етапи в організації соціального піклування і виховання даної категорії дітей в США. Представлено особливості формування правового підґрунтя щодо здійснення соціального піклування і виховання дітей, позбавлених батьківського піклування. Подано характерні риси застосування форм влаштування таких дітей в американському суспільстві у різних історичних періодахПосилання
